On November 6th of last year, I had Bill Hoffmeyer a long-time listener to the broadcast on the air as my guest. The city, where he lives, was targeting his newly-purchased home for demolition. The entire situation appeared pretty hopeless, as they had ordered Bill to contract the bulldozers and destroy his home.
I just received this e-mail from Bill tonight.
Hi Darren,It looks like Bill's appeals haven't fallen upon deaf ears. Thankfully, there is at least one city council that will actually repond to the people. There are so many that don't.
I have appealed the demolition order against my house to the city council Tuesday 6 February 2007. They voted to reverse the demolition order. There were no dissenting votes!
The Mayor offered me a deal, which I accepted: connect to water and sewer in 10 days, and bring the house into compliance within 180 days.
It's QUITE an involved story as to how this came about. I have you, First Amendment Radio, Sam & Trish Britton, Dixie Broadcasting, Brent Johnson, Lee Parker, Voice of Freedom Network, my Engineer, numerous prayers in several states, and YHWH to thank!
Thank YOU and First Amendment Radio for your good works!
YHWH is good! God bless!

Keep in mind that Bill's house is under the International Building Code from the International Code Council. ICC writes the codes that local governments are adopting all around the world. The codes are strict, and they are designed to be universal, as codes, regulations, standards, and laws are all harmonized internationally.
Nevertheless, the real battle is at the local level, and that is exactly where Bill's battle was won. So many battles could be won there, if more people would get involved.
This is a great victory! Congratulations, Bill!
