A case in point: The New York Times ran a story that was reprinted in telling who the real victim is in the Terri Schindler-Shiavo case. The verdict? Judge George Greer!
For most of his career, Judge George Greer presided over mundane local disputes that drew little notice outside Pinellas County or even his courtroom. People who know him say he considers himself a "compassionate conservative," a man whose religious faith is as dear to him as his reputation as a legal scholar.Pardon me while I roll up my pants legs. The B.S. is getting a little deep. The report continues...
Now, though, the placid Florida Circuit Court judge is at the center of one of the nation's most contentious civil cases, the battle over whether to withdraw the feeding tube of a critically brain-damaged woman, Terri Schiavo. The case has made Greer a target of religious conservatives and others who object to ending any life prematurely. He resigned from his Southern Baptist church and lately travels under police protection; he doesn't even go to lunch unaccompanied.Good! The dirtbag should never rest easy again. He is complicit in a plot to murder an innocent woman. If the murder of Terri Schiavo is successfully executed, Greer will then be guilty of murder. He should be removed from the bench, at the very least. Once upon a time, when we had Americans who cared about their freedom, black-robed criminals like he would have been tarred and feathered.
There's no excuse for Greer's absolute disregard for the law.
No matter that the case has gone on for seven years, traveling all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. It always returns to Greer, 63, who on Feb, 25 ordered that Schiavo's feeding tube be removed. On Friday, he ignored attempts by Congress to delay his ruling, clearing the way for the tube to be removed. That is a lie. Greer's ruling didn't "clear the way", Greer ORDERED that "Michael Schiavo, shall cause the removal of Nutrition and hydration from the ward, Theresa Schiavo, at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2005." (Emphasis mine)
I have quoted directly from the actual court order. Not only shall the feeding tube be removed, but Terri is not allowed to be fed by mouth, either. That's not "clearing the way", folks. That's MURDER by ORDER OF THE COURT.
And this "compassionate conservative" judge, a "good Christian" man, is the roach that's ordering the murder of a innocent, handicapped woman.
Not only has Greer ignored Congress, he has ignored the lawmaking body of the state of Florida. They made the law, Judge George is in violation of the law by issuing the orders to have Terri murdered.
Additionally, the Governor of the state of Florida, Jeb Bush, is not upholding the Florida constitution either. The Florida constitution gives him the authority and the mandate to see that the laws of the state are enforced even to the point of bringing in the military. Jeb Bush has the constitutional authority and requirement to call in the military and forcefully rescue Terri. That is the law. His Amicus Curiae Memorandum to the Court of October 7th, 2003 proves he knows the power that he possesses as governor of the state. He refuses to do it, and therefore is not fit to be governor. Everything else he has done, has been so that he can look good to his conservative constituency. Gov. Bush knows the power he possesses under the Florida constitution, but he won't exercise it. Why?
Continuing with Greer:
His finding that Schiavo would rather die than be kept alive artificially, based on testimony from her husband, Michael, has drawn protest from around the world.Cue the violins and the Kleenex, everyone! Poor Curious George!
Opponents have sent hundreds of letters and e-mail messages to the judge, picketed his courthouse in Clearwater, and, in a few cases, friends said, threatened his life. He stopped attending his longtime church, Calvary Baptist in Clearwater, in 2003 after it sent a publication to the congregation sharply criticizing him.
Now, as protesters have descended on Pinellas County, where Schiavo is in a suburban hospice, and Tallahassee, where they are lobbying Gov. Jeb Bush and the Legislature, Greer's friends say he remains resolute. Yet they also say that stress is afflicting the judge and his family, especially after the recent murders of a state judge in Atlanta and a federal judge's husband and mother in Chicago.
Greer, a former Pinellas County commissioner who was elected to the 6th Circuit Court in 1992, declined to be interviewed, and neither the court nor the county sheriff's office would discuss his security arrangements. But several of his friends said that in recent weeks, at least two sheriff's deputies have escorted him almost everywhere. So there you have it, folks. The real victim in the case isn't Terri Schindler-Schiavo. It's really Curious George, the activist, outlaw, black-robed killer. The ignorer of the law, the ursurper of the rights of those for whom he has a mandate to protect. May he rot in hell for his sins, along with Felos the fiend and Michael the malevolent. There isn't any justice in Greer's court, but I've still got to believe that there is in that of the Almighty.
"It's killing me to watch him struggle with this," said Mary Repper, a retired political consultant who worked on several of Greer's campaigns. "Armed guards with him all the time. People threatening to kill him and claiming it has something to do with the right to life ? explain that, will you? I know he's concerned about his family and his wife, because it has gotten so ugly."
