I just posted an article on Sweet Liberty about scientists that are playing with new viruses, trying their best to create a virus that is pandemic-capable.
Doesn't this type of reseach really warm your heart? There's nothing quite like having the best minds working on a way to kill off massive amounts of people.
Naturally, they are trying to create a fast-spreading super virus, for the purpose of saving us from a fast-spreading super virus, should one ever be found in society.
It's kind of like when they grope you, your wife, and children at the airport, confiscate all of your possessions, and detain you for several hours so that they can preserve your freedom.
Science has become largely controlled by grants from corporations, foundations, and extreme liberal, socialist, communistic universities.
I recently heard on the news about a study that was conducted that suggested a certain new drug, Chantix, could help people quit smoking. They spoke in glowing terms about how the drug would lower a smoker's craving for cigarettes.
Aside from the obvious irony that buying this drug would merely be swapping one potentially unhealthy foreign substance in favor of another, the most preposterous part was at the end of the story.
Near the end of the report, inserted almost as an after-thought, they added that the study was funded by the drug's manufacturer, Pfizer.
My immediate thought was: Why is this on the news? This isn't a news story! This is a commercial! The wire services and broadcast news outlets should have never picked up this "story". It's not news when the maker of a product touts its alleged "benefits". Does anyone believe that Pfizer is going to fund a study that might prove its products are a waste of money, full of side effects, and could be dangerous?
Maybe those who decide what stories we see, hear, and read really are given to the opinion that 21st century Americans aren't going to stop and think. Maybe they're right. Maybe there are too many Americans that are already on drugs to think.
Now, the Centers for Disease Control has released the blueprints of over 650 flu viruses for anyone who might have the desire to try to create a pandemic super-virus.
And we're supposed to be worried about camel-riding cave-dwellers with flight manuals?
Perhaps, it's those who make the decisions at the CDC that are the ones who are on drugs.
