'Tsunami Bomb' developed in 1944

Secret government experiments off the coast of New Zealand around 1944 and 1945 were to perfect a bomb that would create a huge tidal wave.

The top-secret U.S. government effort, known as Project Seal, was designed to create a tsunami so devastating that it would play "a role as effective as the atomic bomb".

A series of underwater explosions, triggering mini-tidal waves was set off by Auckland University professor Thomas Leech.

It can now be revealed that declassified documents exist which show that United States and British forces were eager for the tsunami bomb to be developed in the post war years too.

The experiments have special significance in the aftermath of what is being called the worst "natural disaster" in history.

Already being blamed on man-made climate change, the Asian tsunami — which has claimed the lives of at least 124,000 people — could serve as additional fuel for placing pressure on "developed" countries such as the United States to adopt unnecessary, and economically decimating environmental restrictions such as the Kyoto Protocol.

More to be revealed on my Monday broadcast at 11PM Eastern on the First Amendment Radio Network. Listen live on the Internet here! (Donations to the network are encouraged, but not required to listen.)
