Meijer pulls ad with men kissing

In a rare showing by the corporate world that they are sensitive to the concerns of decent Americans, supermarket giant Meijer has pulled an ad showing two men kissing at a barbecue.

It was less than two weeks ago, that it was reported exclusively in this web space that Meijer had decided to broaden its marketing strategy to include the homosexual demographic.

You were asked to make phone calls and write letters. And I'm happy to report that your calls and letters have made a difference.

Meijer has pulled the ad from television. I am assuming it has been pulled in all of the TV markets wherein they advertise, however I can only confirm, at this time, that it will never again be seen in the mid-Michigan television market.

This is an example of how good people, making their voices heard, can enact change.

Thanks to all of you who wrote, and made calls to their corporate headquarters. You might drop Meijer a note of thanks for their response.

Now, if we could only get rid of those job-stealing "U-Scan" lanes, which I refuse to use...
